Food delivery app: repeat orders through push notifications, not through an aggregator.
An app is your own channel with zero commission and direct access to customers via push notifications. Once your base exceeds a thousand customers, a push saying "15% off today" costs a few hundred tenge and brings in orders cheaper than any advertising.
The economics of a food delivery app are built on repeat orders. Acquiring a customer through advertising or an aggregator costs ₸1,500–₸5,000; bringing them back with a promo code push costs ₸50–₸200. That's why the app pays off not on the first order, but on the second, third, and tenth — and the larger the base, the more profitable it becomes.
For the customer, the app offers things the browser can't: live courier tracking on a map, instant push notifications about order status, saved addresses, and order history with one-tap repeat. This reduces the load on operators and improves satisfaction without additional costs.
We build apps natively (Swift, Kotlin) or on Flutter, with a native backend and an admin panel for managing menus, promotions, and couriers. Experience from our own products — 1Study and others — gives us a deep understanding of how to build apps with real transactions and notifications that people use every day.
What a food delivery app must have.
Categories, photos, modifiers, real-time stop-list, cart with promo code and delivery time selection.
Live map with the courier's location, estimated arrival time, order status updates with a push notification at each stage.
Order status, promotions by audience segment, reactivation for "hasn't ordered in 7 days", personal promo codes on birthdays.
Points for orders, tiers, promo codes, referral invitations; balance and accrual history in the profile.
Kaspi Pay, bank card, bonus points — chosen at checkout; saved cards for quick payment.
Order history with one-tap repeat, saved addresses, notification management, in-app receipt.
A separate screen for the courier: new orders, route, delivery confirmation, shift history — optional.
Menu and stop-list management, promotions, delivery zones, couriers, order and revenue analytics by district.
App screens.
- Login by phone number and OTP

Honestly: at what scale does it make sense.
A food delivery app starts paying off when your own customer base exceeds 1,000–2,000 people and you have regular repeat orders. Below that threshold, the same goals are met by a website with a customer account and CRM with WhatsApp broadcasts — 5–7 times cheaper.
If you're somewhere in between, we'll propose a PWA: an in-browser app without publishing to the stores, with browser push notifications and a full menu. Starting from ₸1,200,000 and launching twice as fast as a native app.
How we build the app and how long it takes.
Brief and screen prototype — 1–2 weeks: we define customer and courier scenarios, integrations with POS and payment systems. Design — 2 weeks. Backend, iOS and Android development, Kaspi Pay and r_keeper/iiko integration — 6–10 weeks. Publication to the App Store and Google Play with our moderation support — 1–2 weeks. Total: 10–12 weeks to the first version; we then iterate based on order data and customer feedback.
What affects the price of the app.
iOS and Android app with menu, cart, tracking, pushes, and Kaspi Pay — from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. PWA without stores — from ₸1,200,000. Courier app — a separate module, plus ₸500,000–₸900,000.
Price increases with: r_keeper or iiko integration without a ready API, real-time courier tracking, tiered loyalty program, multiple zones with different conditions. Base prices on the mobile apps page.
The short version.
How much does a food delivery app cost?
Native iOS and Android app — from ₸2,500,000; PWA without stores — from ₸1,200,000. Timeline — from 8 weeks. We provide an estimate after the screen prototype.
Is a separate app for couriers needed?
It depends on the number of couriers and the operating model. With 5–10 couriers, a Telegram bot or simple web interface is sufficient. At larger scale, a dedicated courier app with routes and delivery confirmation reduces errors and speeds up operations.
Can Kaspi Pay be accepted in the app?
Yes, Kaspi Pay is connected as a payment method inside the app. Customers pay through familiar Kaspi without redirects; the commission is per your agreement with Kaspi.
How do you update the menu and stop-list without a developer?
Through the web admin panel: menu, prices, photos, stop-list, and promotions update in real time without releasing an app update to the stores.
Who publishes the app to the App Store and Google Play?
We do, under your name: we register developer accounts (Apple — $99/year, Google — $25 one-time), handle moderation, and support updates.
