An app for diagnostic centres: results, repeat tests and booking in one phone.

An app pays off where patients return: lab tests every quarter, follow-up scans, family check-ups. For lab networks and diagnostic centres we build an app with result history and repeat ordering in two taps; for a single MRI centre we will honestly suggest a patient account on the website.

Returning patients are more common in diagnostics than it seems: people with chronic conditions repeat the same tests every 1–3 months, follow-up MRI or CT is prescribed after surgery and treatment, families do annual check-ups. Without an app, each of these visits is a new Google search and a chance to go to a competitor.

An app turns this into a habit: all results in one place, a chart of a value over the year, a "time to retest" reminder, a repeat order of the same test set with Kaspi payment and a choice of the nearest collection point or a home visit. A result-ready push replaces calls to the front desk.

We build native apps in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter, with a backend and admin panel for the centre. Patient data is stored on servers in Kazakhstan, and integration with the LIS, MIS and PACS is designed before development starts.

What it needs

What a diagnostics app needs.

Results and trends

All tests and reports in one list, value charts with reference ranges, a PDF for the doctor, images via a viewer.

Test ordering

Catalogue with search, a cart, ready-made panels and repeating a past order with one button; Kaspi Pay payment inside the app.

Scan booking

MRI, CT, ultrasound by free slots from the MIS, choice of branch and time, night rates, rescheduling and cancellation.

Home collection

Ordering sample collection at home with a time window, address and the nurse's visit status.

Preparation and reminders

Preparation instructions before the visit, a push the day before and in the morning, a reminder to retest as prescribed by the doctor.

Family profile

Children and elderly parents in one account, separate history for each, shared payment.

Sending to the doctor

A result goes to the attending doctor with one tap as a link with time-limited access.

Bonuses and check-ups

Loyalty points, personal offers on check-up packages, corporate access for employees of partner companies.

Do you need an app

When an app pays off and when a website account is enough.

An app makes sense if you have a lab network or several centres, a significant share of patients retest regularly, and you have a base of tens of thousands of contacts. Then push notifications and repeat orders replace part of the advertising, and family profiles raise the average order.

A patient account on the website or a PWA from ₸1,200,000 is enough if you are a single centre with MRI and CT and most patients come for a one-off scan on referral. They need to get the report and forward it to the doctor — an account with code sign-in covers that.

Often the right path is: a website account first, then after six months we look at how many patients return and decide on an app based on that data.

Data

Medical data in an app: what to plan in advance.

  • Storage in Kazakhstan — databases with scan results are hosted on servers in Kazakhstan, as the personal data law requires.
  • Authentication — sign-in by phone number with a one-time code, on-device biometrics, automatic sign-out after inactivity.
  • Consents — separate consent to process health data and for family member access.
  • Doctor access — a link to the result with a limited validity period and a view log.
  • Single source of truth — results are not duplicated by hand but come from the LIS and PACS; the app only displays them.
Price and timeline

What affects the price of the app.

An iOS and Android app with results, test ordering, booking, Kaspi payment and an admin panel — from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. A PWA or a website patient account instead of an app — from ₸1,200,000.

The price goes up with: the number of integrations (LIS, MIS, PACS), home visits with nurse logistics, family profiles, a loyalty programme, corporate access. Publishing to the App Store and Google Play and post-launch support are separate. Base prices are on the mobile apps page.

Questions

The short version.

How much does an app for a diagnostic centre cost?

From ₸2,500,000 for iOS and Android with a backend and admin panel, from 8 weeks. If the task is only delivering results, we will suggest a patient account or PWA from ₸1,200,000.

Can results be pulled from our LIS?

Yes, if the LIS can deliver results via an API or a regular export. We check this at the start and include it in the estimate; without such an export we do not build an app with results.

Native or Flutter?

We build natively in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter — the choice depends on budget, timeline and image-viewing requirements. For an app with results and orders, Flutter is usually enough.

How will patients find out about the app?

Through the front desk and receipt, the SMS with the result code, a banner in the website account and a push offer to retest. The main source of installs is existing patients.

Who will support the app?

We can: updates for new iOS and Android versions, fixes and improvements under a support contract. The source code and store access are handed over to the centre.

Discuss a project

Considering an app for your network? Tell us about your patients and systems — we will say whether you need it now.

Tell us how many branches and collection points you have, which LIS and MIS you use and what share of patients return. We will reply with what pays off better — an app or a website account — and an estimate within 1–2 business days.

We reply during working hours, usually within a couple of hours.
