Fitness club app: schedule, QR entry and member retention in one screen.
An app pays off for a network of several clubs with a base of thousands of clients: a schedule in the phone, a QR code instead of a card, push notifications when attendance drops and membership payment without queuing retain clients more cheaply than any advertising. For a single club we will honestly suggest a PWA or a website with a personal account.
The core value of a fitness club app is not membership sales — it is retention. A push notification saying «you haven't been in 10 days — come back» works better than any broadcast, because it reaches the right person at the right moment. Visit tracking, workout reminders, a renewal notification a week before expiry — these are what turn one-time buyers into regular clients.
For a club network, the app solves another problem: a unified brand and a unified database. One login, all clubs, one loyalty programme, one QR code for the turnstile at any branch. The client is not tied to a single club — and that is a selling point for a multi-club membership.
We build apps natively (Swift, Kotlin) or on Flutter, with native modules where performance matters, and with our own backend. Our experience building products with bookings, payments and notifications is reflected in our own products 1Study and 1Work.
What a club app must have.
Live group class schedule filtered by discipline, trainer and club; class booking in two taps; cancellation and rescheduling with trainer notification.
Unique membership QR code in the phone instead of a card; scanned at the turnstile; visit history with dates and times.
Buy and renew memberships via Kaspi Pay; Kaspi Red instalments on annual packages; payment history and receipts in the app.
Reminder for a booked workout, push after a 10-day absence, notification 7 days before membership expiry, personalised promotions by activity segment.
Trainer booking with time and format selection; session history and trainer recommendations; training package payment in the app.
Bonus points for visits, referral programme, team and individual challenges with a leaderboard — increase engagement and visit frequency.
Personal data, goals, weight and measurement tracking, workout history — the client sees progress and stays motivated.
Manage schedule, client base, memberships, broadcasts and attendance analytics by club and discipline.

Honestly: who won't get ROI from an app.
A single club with a small client base usually does not need an app: clients will not install it just to view a schedule they can check on the website. Booking, payment and retention needs are covered by a website with a personal account and CRM with WhatsApp notifications at 10–20% of the cost of an app.
An app pays off for a network of 3+ clubs with 3,000–5,000 active clients, a loyalty programme, multi-club memberships and regular group classes. If you fall between these cases — we'll suggest a PWA: schedule, QR entry and personal account in the browser without App Store publication, 2–3 times cheaper than a native app.
How we build it and how long it takes.
Brief and screen prototype — 1–2 weeks: we define user flows and integrations with the management system and turnstile. Design — 2 weeks. Backend, iOS and Android development, Kaspi and access system integration — 8–12 weeks. App Store and Google Play submission — 1–2 weeks with our support. Total from 10–14 weeks for a first version with QR entry and schedule; bonus and challenge features are added in the second iteration.
What affects the cost of the app.
A club network app for iOS and Android with schedule, QR entry, memberships and Kaspi Pay — from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. A PWA version without app stores with the same features — from ₸1,200,000. Support and ongoing development — from ₸60,000 per month.
Price increases with: turnstile integration without a ready API, a loyalty programme with custom accrual rules, multiple clubs with different schedules and prices, progress tracking with measurements. Base prices on the mobile apps page.
The short version.
How much does a fitness club app cost?
A native iOS and Android app — from ₸2,500,000; a PWA without app stores — from ₸1,200,000. Timeline from 8 weeks. We provide a quote after a screen prototype.
Can QR entry be integrated with our turnstile?
Yes, if the access control system has an API or can accept commands via QR code. We confirm this during the brief — most modern turnstile systems support it.
Can membership payments be accepted via Kaspi in the app?
Yes, Kaspi Pay for payment and renewal; Kaspi Red instalments — via a redirect to the Kaspi app. An active Kaspi merchant agreement is required.
Will users actually install the app?
They do when there is a tangible benefit: QR entry instead of a card, schedule and booking without opening a browser, bonus points for visits. We drive installs at the point of membership purchase and with a sign-up bonus.
Who publishes to the App Store and Google Play?
We do, under your name: we create developer accounts (Apple — $99/year, Google — $25 one-time), handle review, and manage updates.
