Mobile app for renovation companies: project, stages and photo reports on one screen.
With a dozen projects underway, foremen drown in client calls and stage photos get lost in chats. The app gives the client a feed of their renovation — stages, photos, documents and payments — and the foreman checklists, purchasing and an on-site report in a couple of minutes.
A renovation lasts from one to six months, and all that time the client wants to know what is happening on site. This is usually handled with calls to the foreman and WhatsApp photos that are impossible to find a month later. An app keeps the project history in one place: stage schedule, dated photo reports, approved materials, the estimate with changes, and payments.
The other side is the team. A foreman or craftsman ticks off completed work against a checklist, photographs hidden works (electrics, plumbing, waterproofing) before they are closed up, and submits a materials request. Management sees all projects, schedule delays and expenses without going on site.
An app pays off when there are many projects and processes are already established. For a small company we usually recommend starting with a CRM and a web portal (PWA), and building a native app once it is clear which features are actually used.
What a renovation company app includes.
Renovation stages with dates, current status, photos and videos for each stage, foreman comments. The client sees progress without calling.
Mandatory photos of electrics, plumbing, waterproofing and screed before closing up — with date and geotag. Protection for both client and company at handover.
Approved estimate, extra work submitted for approval with an “approve” button, change history — no “that’s not what we agreed” disputes.
Payment schedule, paying a stage via Kaspi Pay, receipts and completion certificates in one section.
A selection of tiles, laminate, sanitaryware with photos and prices; the client chooses or confirms in the app.
List of projects, stage checklists, a photo report in a couple of taps, materials requests and tracking of workers on site.
After handover — warranty certificate, documents and a warranty claim button with a photo of the issue.
Stage completed, material choice needed, payment due soon, handover scheduled — instead of a dozen messenger messages.

When a web portal is enough and when you need an app.
A client portal on the website (PWA) — opens from a WhatsApp link, can be added to the phone home screen, shows stages, photos and payments. No App Store or Google Play needed. From ₸1,200,000, 5–8 weeks. Suits most companies with 5–15 projects at once.
A native iOS and Android app — needed when foremen shoot lots of photos and videos on sites without stable internet and you need offline mode, geotags, a camera with mandatory fields and reliable push notifications. From ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks.
A common path: first a CRM and a PWA for clients, then after 3–6 months a native app for foremen, once shooting rules and checklists have been tested in practice.
Why foremen abandon apps and how to avoid it.
- Too many fields. An on-site report should take 1–2 minutes: choose a stage, take photos, tick checklist items. Everything else comes later and not from the foreman.
- No offline mode. New builds often have no signal — photos must be saved and sent once the network is back.
- Duplication with WhatsApp. If clients are still messaged in the messenger, nobody opens the app. The fix is app notifications sent to WhatsApp with a link.
- Nothing is mandatory. A stage cannot be closed and a payment cannot be issued without a photo report — then reports appear on their own.
- No training. We spend the first week with crews on site, not with a PDF manual.
What affects the app price.
A PWA client portal with stages, photo reports, estimate and Kaspi payment starts from ₸1,200,000, 5–8 weeks. A native iOS and Android app with a client portal and a foreman app, offline mode and CRM integration starts from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks; the final price depends on the number of screens and roles.
The price depends on the number of scenarios (client, foreman, purchaser, manager), offline mode, CRM and 1C integrations and the volume of photo and video storage. Base prices are on the mobile apps page.
The short version.
How much does an app for a renovation company cost?
A PWA client portal starts from ₸1,200,000, a native iOS and Android app with client and foreman roles starts from ₸2,500,000.
Will clients install an app for a single renovation?
They do if the renovation lasts months and the app shows photos, stages and payments. But we often start with a PWA opened by link — it doesn’t need to be downloaded from a store.
Will foremen and craftsmen cope?
Yes, if the interface is designed for a construction site: large buttons, minimal text, works without internet. We run a pilot on 2–3 projects before rolling out company-wide.
Can the app be connected to the CRM?
Yes, a deal in amoCRM or Bitrix24 becomes a project in the app, and completed stages and payments go back to the CRM. This removes double entry.
How long are photos and videos stored?
As long as the warranty requires — usually no less than the warranty period. We size storage for your volume; the cloud cost is a separate line in the estimate.
