A mobile app for flower shops that reminds customers of important dates before competitors do.

Not every shop needs an app — it is for a chain or delivery service with a large base of regular customers. Its strength is memory: recipients, addresses, occasions and past bouquets are saved, and a repeat order takes two taps.

Reminder: tomorrow at 10:00

Flower buyers come back for occasions: loved ones’ birthdays, anniversaries, 8 March, Teacher’s Day. The app stores these dates and sends a push 2–3 days ahead with last year’s bouquet and a «repeat» button. A push is cheaper than SMS and doesn’t get lost in WhatsApp among work chats.

The second task is the speed of a repeat order. Saved recipients with addresses and phone numbers, favourite arrangements, one-tap Kaspi payment and real-time order status: assembled, photo ready, courier on the way, delivered. The customer sees the bouquet photo before dispatch right in the app.

The third is retention: bonuses for orders, a subscription to a weekly bouquet for home or office, exclusive offers before holidays. We build natively in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter — the choice depends on budget and requirements for animations and offline mode. For a single shop it is often wiser to start with a PWA or a good website.

What it needs

What a flower delivery app needs.

Catalogue and two-tap ordering

The same bouquets as on the website, with filters by occasion and budget; repeat a past order with one button.

Recipient book

Recipients’ names, phones, addresses and occasions are saved; nothing has to be re-entered at checkout.

Date reminders

The customer adds dates or they are collected from past orders; a push 2–3 days ahead with a collection and last year’s bouquet.

Kaspi payment

Kaspi Pay, a saved payment method, Kaspi Red instalments for expensive arrangements and subscriptions.

Status and photo

Real-time order stages, a photo of the assembled bouquet, approving a flower substitution in chat, a «delivered» mark with the courier’s photo.

Bonuses and subscriptions

Points cashback, a weekly or monthly bouquet subscription, separate terms for corporate clients.

Holiday pre-orders

2–3 weeks before 14 February and 8 March — a holiday shopfront and slot booking before they run out.

Two languages

Interface and cards in Russian and Kazakh, switching without reinstalling.

When it pays off

Who needs an app and who doesn’t.

An app pays off when there is a base of repeat customers: in our experience and according to market data, from several thousand buyers a year and a noticeable share of people ordering more than twice. Then date pushes and bonuses bring repeat orders without ad spend.

For a single shop with traffic from Instagram and aggregators an app is usually premature: customers won’t install it for one order a year. A website with a customer account and a CRM with WhatsApp reminders works better for them, with the app as the next stage.

A middle option is a PWA: it opens from the browser, can be added to the home screen, supports push on Android and costs from ₸1,200,000.

Tied to operations

The customer app is only half of the system.

An order from the app must land in the same place as orders from the website, WhatsApp and aggregators: one CRM where the florist sees the assembly queue and the dispatcher sees routes. Otherwise, on a peak day the same bouquet gets sold twice.

So alongside the customer app we design a panel for florists and couriers: a task list per interval, photo upload, «on the way» and «delivered» marks that reach the customer automatically. The courier part can be a separate simple app or a web screen.

Stock and availability are pulled from 1C or the inventory system — the app doesn’t show items that can’t be assembled today.

Price and timeline

What affects the price of the app.

An iOS and Android app with a catalogue, recipients, reminders, bonuses and Kaspi payment costs from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. A PWA without store publication — from ₸1,200,000. Support and development after launch are billed separately, monthly.

The price goes up with: subscriptions and a complex bonus system, a courier app, integration with inventory and 1C, chat with the florist, native development for two platforms instead of Flutter. Base terms are on the mobile apps page.

Questions

The short version.

How much does an app for a flower shop cost?

An iOS and Android app costs from ₸2,500,000 and takes from 8 weeks, a PWA from ₸1,200,000. The exact estimate depends on bonuses, subscriptions and integrations with inventory and couriers.

Will customers install an app just for flowers?

Not for a single order. Those who order regularly install it: for home, for the office, for several dates a year. That’s why we recommend an app to chains and delivery services with a base of regular customers.

What do you build apps with?

Natively in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter. Flutter is cheaper for two platforms; native development gives better smoothness and access to system features. We choose based on the task.

Can you build an app for couriers?

Yes: tasks per interval, a route on the map, a photo on delivery and a status mark that reaches the customer immediately. This is often a separate simple app or a web screen.

What if it’s too early for an app?

Start with a website and a CRM with WhatsApp reminders — CRM for flower shops. The customer and date database collected there can later be moved into the app.

Discuss a project

Thinking about an app? Tell us about your customer base — we’ll say whether it’s time and what it costs.

Tell us your monthly orders, the share of repeat customers, the number of locations and couriers. We’ll reply whether you need a store app, a PWA or a website with a CRM, and send an estimate within 1–2 business days.

We reply during working hours, usually within a couple of hours.
