A mobile app for medical clinics: booking, lab results and reminders in one place.
An app makes sense for a network of several branches with thousands of patients: lab results on the patient's phone, doctor booking without a call, push notifications about preventive visits and bundled programmes bring patients back cheaper than any advertising. For a single clinic we'll honestly recommend a PWA or WhatsApp bot instead.
The core value of an app for a clinic is not booking — it is retention. A patient who receives lab results in the app, sees a follow-up reminder and can book in two taps returns 2–3 times more often than one who has to call or search for a phone number.
For a branch network, the app solves the single-brand challenge: one entry point, all specialties and branches, one patient history, a unified loyalty programme and bundled check-ups. This is especially important when a patient is registered with one doctor but can visit different locations.
We build apps natively (Swift, Kotlin) or on Flutter, with a proprietary backend and an admin panel for the clinic manager. Our experience comes from our own products 1Study and 1Work: apps with bookings, payments and notifications used daily by thousands of people.
What a medical clinic app must have.
Available slots from the HIS schedule, choice of specialty, doctor and branch, rescheduling and cancellation, push and WhatsApp confirmation.
Automatic PDF upload from the laboratory system, history with reference ranges, trend comparison. The patient never needs to call reception.
Appointments, prescriptions, referrals — on the patient's phone without contacting the receptionist.
Push notifications for follow-up appointments, routine lab tests, children's vaccinations and expiring check-up programmes. Works like a personal medical assistant.
Programme catalogue with contents and pricing, Kaspi Pay payment, progress status for each stage within the package.
Video consultation or chat with a doctor for follow-up questions and result interpretation — without an in-person visit.
One account for the whole family: parents manage children's bookings, view their lab results and vaccination records.
Schedule, patients, messaging campaigns, repeat-visit statistics and doctor utilisation by branch for the clinic manager.
App screens.

- Booking: specialty → doctor → branch → time

Honestly: who won't see a return on an app.
A single clinic with 5–10 doctors generally does not need an app: patients won't install it for a visit once a quarter. Booking, reminders and lab result delivery are handled by a website with online booking and CRM with WhatsApp at 10–15 % of the cost of an app.
An app pays off for a network of 3+ branches with 5,000+ active patients, regular lab tests and bundled programmes. If you're between these cases — we'll propose a PWA: the same functionality in the browser without app store publishing, 2–3 times cheaper than a native app.
How we build it and how long it takes.
Brief and screen prototype — 1–2 weeks. Design — 2 weeks. Backend development, iOS and Android, HIS and laboratory system integration — 6–10 weeks. App Store and Google Play publication — 1–2 weeks with our review support. Total: 8–12 weeks for the first version; we then iterate based on usage data and team requests.
What affects the app price.
A medical clinic network app for iOS and Android with booking, lab results, reminders and Kaspi Pay — from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. PWA version without app stores — from ₸1,200,000. Support and further development — quoted separately.
Price increases with: HIS integration without a ready API, lab result export from the laboratory system, telemedicine with video consultation, family profile with multiple roles, multiple branches with different price lists. Base prices on the mobile apps page.
The short version.
How much does an app for a medical clinic cost?
Native iOS and Android app — from ₸2,500,000; PWA without app stores — from ₸1,200,000. Timeline — from 8 weeks. We provide an estimate after the screen prototype.
Will the app see our HIS schedule?
Yes, if the HIS has an API. The patient sees real available slots and the booking goes straight into the doctor's schedule. Without an API, booking goes through the CRM with receptionist confirmation.
How do you deliver lab results in the app?
Via integration with the laboratory system: when a result is ready it automatically appears in the patient's app with a push notification. The specific method depends on the lab software in use.
Can telemedicine be added?
Yes, video consultations and doctor chat are a separate module that can be added to the base app. Cost and timeline are calculated after defining the use-case scenarios.
Who publishes to the App Store and Google Play?
We do, on your behalf: we set up developer accounts (Apple — $99/year, Google — $25 one-time), handle review, and manage version updates.
