Web apps: when a website is not enough and off-the-shelf software does not fit.
Customer and partner accounts, subscription services, internal accounting systems, B2B portals, learning platforms. We design and build around your business logic, the same way we build our own products.
Who it is for
- Companies that need a customer account: orders, documents, payments, statuses.
- Startups and entrepreneurs launching a subscription SaaS who want a first version within 2–3 months.
- Businesses running internal processes in Excel and WhatsApp that need to move into a proper system.
- Companies for which off-the-shelf CRM and accounting systems did not fit: too much clutter, and the one thing they need is missing.
What you get.
User scenarios, roles, data structure, screen map. At this stage the scope and the price become clear.
Prototypes and a design system in Figma: convenient, fast and consistent across dozens of screens.
Next.js and React: fast interfaces, works on a phone, offline mode when needed.
Node.js (Fastify or NestJS), PostgreSQL, queues, background jobs, an API for mobile apps.
Sign-in by phone number, e-mail, Google and Apple; roles and permissions; audit logs.
Subscriptions and one-off payments through Kaspi, invoices for legal entities, plans and limits.
1C, CRM, WhatsApp and Telegram, SMS, payments, maps, external APIs.
Servers, backups, monitoring, logs, CI/CD. Hosted with us or with you.
Architecture description, API and manuals, so that any team can take the system forward.
MVP first, everything else after.
The most common mistake in custom development is trying to build everything at once. Six months and several million tenge later it turns out that half the features are not needed and the one that is was never planned.
We split the project into stages. The first is the MVP: the minimum set of scenarios you can work with and charge money for. It ships in 4–8 weeks. After that come iterations driven by data: what users actually do, where they stumble, what they are willing to pay for.
That is how we built 1Study: the first version was an app for a single school, and today it is a platform with 62 schools and subscription billing. Not one feature was added 'just in case'.
Why Next.js, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
This is the stack our products run on, as do most modern SaaS. Next.js gives a fast interface and SEO pages where they are needed. Node.js on the back-end lets one team run both the front-end and the API. PostgreSQL is a reliable database with full-text search, geodata and JSON without extra services.
We do not use no-code and low-code platforms for core logic: they are quick to start with and become a bottleneck within six months. But where a ready-made service solves the task, such as authentication or sending e-mail, we use the ready-made service.
From enquiry to result.
- 1Discovery
1–2 weeks: interviews, scenarios, data structure, prototypes of the key screens. The output is a specification and an exact estimate for the first stage.
- 2Design system
Components and screens in Figma. We agree principles, not every button.
- 3Sprints
Weekly sprints with a demo every Friday. The first working scenarios arrive 2–3 weeks after development starts.
- 4MVP launch
Production infrastructure, backups, monitoring, first users. We start collecting data.
- 5Growth
Iterations based on metrics and feedback. Support and development by subscription or in stages.
What affects the price.
A customer account with orders, payments and documents is from ₸1,500,000 and 6–8 weeks. A SaaS with registration, Kaspi subscriptions, three roles and an admin panel is ₸3,000,000–6,000,000 for the first version, 2–4 months. Internal accounting systems depend on the number of processes and are priced after discovery.
Discovery (1–2 weeks) is paid separately, from ₸200,000, and produces a specification and an estimate you can take to us or to any other contractor.
We do this for ourselves too.
Our products are web apps: 1Study with a school admin panel, Kaspi subscriptions and an API for mobile apps; 1Work with POS integrations and payroll calculation; 1Ticket with ticket sales and scanning. For clients we have built a B2B procurement platform with supplier accounts, a loyalty SaaS for fitness clubs and an HR platform. See our case studies.
The short version.
How much does web app development cost?
From ₸1,500,000 for a customer account or a simple service, ₸3–6 million for the first version of a SaaS with billing. The exact figure comes after discovery, which takes 1–2 weeks.
How long does it take?
An MVP takes 6–12 weeks. Then iterations. We do not take on projects that run 'for a year with no interim releases'.
Who will own the code?
You. The repository is on your GitHub account from day one, with documentation at handover.
Can we add a mobile app later?
Yes. The back-end is designed as an API from the start, so that both the web and mobile apps connect to it.
Do you build custom CRM systems?
Yes, if off-the-shelf ones do not fit. But first we will ask honestly why amoCRM or Bitrix24 did not work: sometimes it is cheaper to extend them.
What about security and data?
Encryption, roles, audit logs, backups, isolation of client data. Hosting on servers in Europe or on your infrastructure in Kazakhstan if the regulator requires it.
Have an idea for a service, or a system that is overdue? We start with discovery.
Describe who will use it and what tasks the app has to cover. We will propose a format for the first stage and an estimate.
