Mobile app for sports schools: parents see the schedule, payments and their child's progress.

When there are hundreds of students and several gyms, communication through group WhatsApp chats stops working: reschedules get lost in messages and payments are reconciled by hand. An app brings the schedule, attendance, memberships and school news together for parents and coaches.

Not every club needs an app. A single gym with 60 students is fine with a website, WhatsApp and a CRM. An app pays off for an academy or a network of schools with several branches and hundreds of students, where the schedule changes every week, tournaments and training camps are frequent, and parents keep asking the same questions: what time is training, is the membership paid, how is my child doing.

The app has two sides. The parent sees the group schedule, gets a push about a reschedule, pays for a membership via Kaspi, and views attendance, grading and tournament results. The coach marks attendance in two taps, messages the group and sees whose membership is running out.

We build apps natively in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter, with a backend and an admin panel for the administrator. If your task is closer to learning — video lessons, home programs, tests — first look at our platform 1Study: it already has a student app.

What it needs

What a sports school app includes.

Schedule and reschedules

Group and coach schedules, push notifications about cancellations or changes, a calendar of tournaments and training camps. The administrator makes changes in one admin panel.

Attendance

Coaches mark who's present from their phone; parents see absences, the school sees students who have been missing for two weeks.

Memberships and payment

Sessions left, validity, freeze, one-tap renewal via Kaspi Pay. Payment reminders arrive as a push, not a phone call.

Student progress

Belts, ranks, standards, grading and tournament results, coach comments. This is the main argument for renewing.

Coach app

List of groups, attendance marking, group messages, notes on students, coach workload by hours.

Several children in one account

A family with two or three children in different sports sees everything in one profile and gets a family discount.

Events

Sign-up for a tournament, training camp or summer camp, fee payment, document list, reminders before departure.

News and content

School news, tournament photos and videos, home fitness assignments. Push notifications instead of posting in ten group chats.

Payback

When an app makes sense for a sports club.

An app costs from ₸2,500,000 to build plus monthly support, so we assess it through retention. In our experience and according to market data, kids' clubs lose a noticeable share of students in the first three months, almost always quietly: missed sessions, didn't renew, nobody called. If the app shows parents their child's progress and reminds them to renew, and the school sees absences the same day, that retention is the payback.

Rule of thumb: an app makes sense when a school has 300–500+ students, 2+ branches and regular events. Below that, a CRM with WhatsApp reminders and a parent account on the website is enough; moving to an app later can be done on the same database.

Options

Your own app, a PWA or a ready-made platform.

  • Native app (Swift, Kotlin) or Flutter — full control over features, your brand in the App Store and Google Play, push, Kaspi payment. From ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks.
  • PWA — a web app installed on the phone's home screen: schedule, membership, payment, no store publishing. From ₸1,200,000; push on iOS works with limitations.
  • 1Study — if the school has a learning component: videos, home programs, theory, tests. The student app and Kaspi payment are already in place, no development from scratch.

In the first meeting we go through your scenarios and tell you which option fits, including when the answer is not development.

Price and timeline

What drives the price of an app.

An iOS and Android app with schedule, memberships, Kaspi payment, attendance and an admin panel — from ₸2,500,000, from 8 weeks. A PWA with basic scenarios — from ₸1,200,000. The coach app, student progress and events are separate modules in the estimate.

The price goes up with: the number of roles (parent, student, coach, administrator), integration with an existing CRM, several branches with different membership rules, offline attendance marking, two interface languages. General terms — on the mobile apps page.

Questions

The short version.

How much does an app for a sports school cost?

A native or Flutter app for iOS and Android with an admin panel — from ₸2,500,000, a PWA — from ₸1,200,000. The exact estimate depends on roles and modules; we calculate it after the brief.

Does a single club need an app?

Usually not: one gym is fine with a website, WhatsApp and a CRM with reminders. An app is justified for an academy with several branches and hundreds of students.

Can parents pay for a membership in the app?

Yes, via Kaspi Pay: the parent sees the sessions left and renews from the app, and the payment shows up for the administrator immediately.

What do you build apps with?

Natively in Swift and Kotlin or in Flutter — chosen by task and budget. Backend and admin panel — Next.js and PostgreSQL.

How is 1Study different from a custom app?

1Study is a ready-made learning platform: groups, materials, videos, a student app, Kaspi payment. A custom app is needed when the core is schedule, attendance, progress and events under your own rules.
