Social ads for agribusiness: farmers in the right districts see your offer before the season.

Social ads in agri work primarily for those selling to farmers: seeds, fertilisers, crop protection, machinery, spare parts, feed. We set up campaigns by rural district and region, make creatives in Kazakh with real fields and machinery, and pass leads into WhatsApp and the CRM.

A farmer does not search Google for a new sunflower hybrid every day, but scrolls Instagram, Facebook and TikTok daily. Social ads let you show your offer in advance — a few weeks before sowing, spraying or harvest — while the farmer is still choosing a supplier.

What works is not glossy banners but clear videos: an agronomist in the field shows a variety's results, an operator talks about the machinery, a video from the warehouse with the price and delivery terms. Creatives in Kazakh, with natural speech and real farms, in our experience often bring cheaper leads than Russian ones — especially in the southern and western regions.

For food producers, social ads are useful in retail and HoReCa: meat, dairy, honey, vegetable boxes delivered in Almaty and Astana. For wholesale crop buyers social ads help little — SEO and CRM work there.

What it needs

What's included in social ads for agribusiness.

Geo by district and region

Campaigns for specific regions, districts and a radius around warehouses and dealers, not all of Kazakhstan.

Creatives in Kazakh and Russian

Videos and carousels in two languages with real fields, machinery and people; Kazakh is the main language for rural districts.

Seasonal media plan

A campaign calendar for sowing, crop protection, harvest and feed procurement; the budget grows towards the peak instead of being split evenly by month.

Leads in WhatsApp

A WhatsApp button with a pre-filled message and Meta lead forms with fields: crop, area, district.

Retargeting

Reaching those who watched a video, visited the site or wrote but did not buy; a separate offer for repeat purchases.

Lookalike audiences from your base

Lookalikes based on CRM clients: farms that have already bought help find similar ones.

Retail sales

For producers of meat, dairy and honey — campaigns by city district with delivery and Kaspi payment.

Analytics down to the deal

Meta Pixel and Conversions API, tags in the CRM: you see which campaign produced not just a lead but a sale.

Moderation

What to consider in agri ad moderation.

Most agri products — seeds, fertilisers, machinery, feed — pass Meta and TikTok moderation without problems. Difficulties arise with three groups:

  • Pesticides and crop protection products — platforms may restrict delivery; creatives do not promise «complete destruction» or show unsafe application, and the product must be registered in Kazakhstan.
  • Veterinary drugs — a sensitive category; we advertise veterinary services and consultations, not specific medicines.
  • Live animals — platforms often reject ads selling livestock; we promote the farm and meat products, and the deal itself happens in WhatsApp.

Yield claims in ads must be based on variety or product trial results, not on a figure without a source.

Economics

How to tell whether social ads pay off.

In agri you count not the cost of a lead but the cost of a client per season. A farm that bought seeds for several hundred hectares brings revenue many times higher than the cost of the lead, and with good service comes back every year. So a seemingly expensive lead from a farmer can be profitable, while a cheap one is a loss if it is a retail buyer with a vegetable patch.

You need four numbers to decide: the average deal size, margin, the share of leads that become sales, and repeat purchases. Based on our experience and market data, in agri B2B a minority of social ad leads turn into deals — usually 5–15 % — so without a CRM and a fast reply in WhatsApp, social ads will not pay off at any budget.

Price and timeline

How much social ads for agribusiness cost.

Social ad management on one platform in one region — ₸150,000–₸250,000 per month; two platforms, several regions or creatives in two languages — ₸250,000–₸400,000. The ad budget is paid separately, from ₸200,000 per month; during the season suppliers of seeds and machinery usually increase it. Setup is included in the first month; a one-off setup without management is ₸150,000.

Production of field videos is estimated separately; they can be shot by your agronomist on a phone following our script. Base terms are on the targeted advertising page.

Questions

The short version.

How much do social ads for agribusiness cost?

Management — from ₸150,000 per month per platform, two platforms or two languages — ₸250,000–₸400,000; the ad budget is separate, from ₸200,000 per month. Setup is included in the first month.

Are farmers on Instagram and TikTok?

Yes, especially young farm managers and agronomists; the older generation is more active on Facebook and WhatsApp. We choose platforms by product and region and usually test two.

Which language should the ads be in?

For rural districts in the south and west — primarily Kazakh, for the north and cities — Russian. We usually launch both versions and see which brings cheaper leads.

When should we launch?

3–6 weeks before the peak: seeds and fertilisers — January–March, machinery and parts — February–March and June–July, feed — August–October. Off-season — a small budget for awareness and retargeting.

Can we advertise livestock sales?

Platforms often reject direct ads for selling live animals. We promote the farm, the feedlot or meat products, and handle specific deals in WhatsApp and the CRM.
