Website, app and advertising for pharmacies: people find a medicine, see where it is in stock and reserve it.

Customers search for a medicine by name, not for a pharmacy: they type the drug into Google, compare prices and check where it is available nearby. We build a catalogue with real stock by branch from 1C, reservation and delivery, a loyalty programme and promotion that respects the restrictions on medicine advertising.

How we build the systemPharmacies
1Ads & SEO2Website3CRM4Repeat sales

Pharmacy retail in Kazakhstan means a low average receipt, thousands of SKUs and a customer who comes for a specific product. They are not choosing a "good pharmacy" — they want to know where the medicine is in stock, at what price and how fast they can get it. So the main digital asset of a pharmacy is a catalogue with prices and stock for every branch, searchable by brand name and INN.

The second feature is repeat purchases. Chronic patients, parents of small children and elderly customers buy the same things every month. A loyalty card, a chain app and a "time to reorder" reminder retain them more cheaply than any advertising. The third is regulation: a pharmaceutical licence, special rules for prescription drugs and restrictions on medicine advertising.

Below is what we do for pharmacies and chains: each direction has its own page with features, integrations and prices.

Typical problems

What pharmacies come to us with.

  • The website shows no stock, or stock updates once a day: a customer travels for a medicine that has already sold out, and next time goes to an aggregator.
  • Search only understands the exact brand name: nothing is found by INN, with a typo or in Kazakh.
  • All day long WhatsApp messages ask "do you have…", pharmacists are distracted from the till and answers come an hour later.
  • The loyalty card is paper or lives only in the till software — the chain does not know its regular customers and cannot offer them anything.
  • Ads are rejected by moderation or the account is blocked because creatives ignore the rules for medicines.
  • A chain has dozens of branches with different hours, phone numbers and 2GIS listings — customers cannot quickly find the nearest pharmacy on duty.
Kazakhstan specifics

What matters specifically in Kazakhstan.

  • Licence and prescription drugs — the site shows the pharmaceutical licence and branch addresses; prescription items are displayed without online payment and delivery, only with reservation and dispensing against a prescription. We check remote-sale rules against the current Health Code.
  • Medicine advertising — the advertising law and Meta, Google and Yandex policies restrict drug ads: prescription medicines cannot be advertised and contraindication warnings are mandatory. We advertise the pharmacy, its service, OTC range and related products.
  • 1C and the accounting system — stock, prices and expiry dates live in 1C or the pharmacy's own accounting software; the website and app must read them with frequent sync, not from a daily export.
  • Kaspi and aggregators — Kaspi Pay and Kaspi QR for reservations and delivery, plus competition with pharmacy search services such as i-teka and Kaspi Marketplace: your own catalogue must be as fast and as cheap.
  • 2GIS — maps win the "pharmacy near me" and "24-hour pharmacy" searches: every branch needs its own listing with hours, phone and on-duty status.
  • Two languages — people type drug names in Latin and Cyrillic and with typos, while questions and "дәріхана" searches come in Kazakh; catalogue search and the website must understand both languages.
Where to start

The order for a pharmacy and a chain.

  1. Catalogue with 1C stock — a website searchable by name and INN, with price and availability by branch, reservation and pickup. This is the basis for SEO and advertising.
  2. 2GIS and Google listings for every branch — a cheap and fast flow from "pharmacy near me".
  3. Order and reservation handling in a CRM or the site admin, WhatsApp auto-replies about stock.
  4. SEO by drug name — thousands of product pages for "name + price + city" searches; results in 4–6 months.
  5. App and loyalty — for a chain of 10+ branches with regular customers: reorders, bonuses and push notifications about promotions.
Economics

Why retention matters more to a pharmacy than a new customer.

The average pharmacy receipt is modest and the markup on medicines is limited, so an expensive customer who buys once rarely pays off. Pharmacy revenue comes from people who return: chronic patients, families with children, buyers of cosmetics and health products where margins are higher.

So advertising and SEO cover the neighbourhood and searches for specific medicines, while retention relies on the loyalty programme, the app and reorder reminders. A separate source of margin is the related range — dermocosmetics, baby food, vitamins, orthopaedic products — which can be promoted more freely than medicines.

Questions

Questions from pharmacies.

How much does a pharmacy website cost?

A single-pharmacy site with contacts, promotions and a showcase of popular products costs ₸600,000–1,200,000. An online pharmacy or chain website with a 1C catalogue, stock by branch, reservation and delivery starts at ₸1,500,000. Details on the website for pharmacies page.

Can medicines be sold online with delivery?

Over-the-counter medicines and related products — yes, with a licence and in line with remote-sale requirements. Prescription items are shown only with reservation and dispensing at the pharmacy against a prescription; the exact procedure is checked with your lawyer and current rules.

How do you show real stock on the website?

We connect to 1C or the pharmacy's accounting system and pull stock and prices for every branch with frequent sync — from every few minutes to hourly. Without an API we set up a regular file export.

Can a pharmacy advertise on Instagram and Google?

Yes, but not every product: prescription drugs cannot be advertised, medicines need warnings, and platforms moderate health topics more strictly. We advertise the pharmacy brand, delivery and reservation, promotions on OTC products, cosmetics and health goods.

Does a pharmacy need a mobile app?

One or two pharmacies usually do not: a website with reservation and WhatsApp is enough. For a chain of 10+ branches with a loyalty programme, an app drives repeat purchases and push notifications without SMS costs. More on the app for pharmacies page.
